Why do we Snow Foam?

Why do we cover your vehicle in a thick, snowy foam that looks like a soap and water wash on steroids?

On a microscopic scale, contaminants on a micro fibre wash mitt are harmful to a vehicles finish that can results in swirls and scratches. As a pre-wash, snow foam lifts dirt, floating it away without rubbing it into the finish. Snow foam detergents encapsulate road grime, dirt, dust, and pollen, lifting it away from the surface of your vehicle.

A streak free rinse finish is ensured with the suspension of dirt using hydrophobic polymers in the snow foam that will not remove wax or affect the bodywork.

The best way to take advantage of snow foam’s pre-wash capabilities is to spray it onto your vehicle with a snow foam cannon or foam gun connected to a pressure washer. This ensures no physical contact with the vehicle surface, preventing scratches and swirls. Still, if you don’t have access to a pressure washer, you can take advantage of some of snow foam’s pre-wash characteristics with a microfiber wash mitt and a light touch.

The best way to take advantage of snow foam’s pre-wash capabilities is to spray it onto your vehicle with a snow foam cannon or foam gun connected to a pressure washer. Pre-washing with snow foam creates a thick, creamy retentive foam that sticks to the bodywork of your vehicle increasing the time the cleaning agent is in contact with the dirt and grime allowing time for the foam to break down the dirt and lift it of the bodywork ensuring there is no physical contact with the vehicle surface, preventing scratches and swirls

We use PH neutral snow foam, applied with a pressure washer with a snow foam lance to make the car washing considerably more effective, pulling the foam into a stream of water, forcing it through a mesh that agitates the liquid foam into a thick clingy consistency .

We leave the foam on the vehicle for a short period of time where it will start to remove and break down stubborn dirt or bird droppings without any damaging brushing or physical contact by us, it is then rinsed away with a light power wash.

Regular use of your vehicle, driven and relatively high speeds, will deposit all kinds of contaminants. Even leaving the car parked close to trees and vegetation will attract sap particulates and organic residue that if left will damage the paint finish on the bodywork. A regular soapy wash (roadside car cleaning outfits) will not do the job properly and will more than likely leave swirl and marring marks that will require a machine polish to remove.

It's true that once the snow foam has been rinsed of we will still need to do a 2 bucket mitt wash, however with the dirt and debris removed through the snow foam application there is a reduced risk of damage to the paintwork.

Snow foam does not work like a conventional car shampoo, despite conventional shampoo's breaking down grease and dirt, snow foam needs to be sprayed on and left for a short period time to settle and work. The snow foam is not wiped off as as it does not have any properties that helps it slide over the paintwork which would damage the vehicles paintwork.

The Snow Foam we use is a new generation premium quality, foaming water-based pre-wash treatment, designed to soak and saturate soiled vehicle paintwork prior to the application of vehicle shampoo and paint food. The foam is gentle specifically formulated for use with all pressure washer foam lances. Applied at a typical PIR (Panel Impact Ratio) of 4%, auto-foam will panel dwell for typically 5 minutes. Snow Foam is formulated specifically to offer maximum wetting, it rinses easily too.
